NumbersUSA is a US-based anti-immigration group. Their website is numbersusa.com. Prominent members of this group include Roy Beck.
How does NumbersUSA describe itself?
On its About Us page, NumbersUSA describes itself as follows:
NumbersUSA Action is a non-profit, non-partisan, public policy organization that favors an environmentally sustainable and economically just America. It opposes efforts by the federal government to use immigration policy to force mass U.S. population growth and to depress wages of vulnerable workers.
How does NumbersUSA distinguish itself?
Compared to other anti-immigration groups, NumbersUSA is more focused on the overpopulation and environment aspect of the harms to immigrant-receiving countries, specifically the United States. They do cover some of the other common anti-immigration arguments, including suppression of wages of natives, but not to the same extent as other anti-immigration groups.
NumbersUSA is concerned about the number of immigrants rather than the characteristics of immigrants. The group repudiates anti-immigration arguments that rely on the characteristics of immigrants. In particular, they steer clear of arguments such as culture clash and IQ deficit.
NumbersUSA also prides itself on being supportive of, and supported by, legal immigrants who have already moved in.
Some of these distinguishing characteristics are outlined on the page “No” to Immigrant Bashing, which is the top-most link from the site home page.
